I am Betsi, a Denver-based family photographer with deep roots in Colorado and a client list that stretches from the Rockies to New York City. My approach is simple: I follow your family's lead. I am not staging poses or asking everyone to look at the camera at once. I am watching for the real moments, the ones that actually look like your life.
What A Family Session Looks Like
Every family session starts with a conversation. I want to know where you feel most like yourselves, whether that is a Denver park you visit every weekend, a trail you love hiking, or your own backyard. Location, light, and comfort all work together to make the images feel true to you.
Sessions are usually 60 minutes, which gives us enough time to warm up, let the kids do their thing, and find those quiet between-the-moments that make the whole gallery worth scrolling through. You will not feel rushed, and the kids can just be kids.
I deliver a full edited gallery within two weeks of our shoot. Every image is color corrected and retouched to a consistent, warm, film-inspired style that holds up beautifully whether you are printing wall art or sharing with family.

I have spent years photographing families across Colorado, New York, and beyond, and the thing I hear most afterward is that the session felt easy. Kids were just being kids. Parents were not stressed. The gallery came back looking like real life, because it was.
My approach is to blend in first and direct only when I need to. I am watching for the in between moments, the ones that happen when nobody is performing for the camera.
