On their first date, Cody Plofker and Payal Patel went through two bottles of wine during a dinner they did not want to end while in Boston for a seminar, a night that inevitably became the beginning of their story. Originally envisioning a far flung destination wedding, the couple ultimately focused on finding a location closer to home with personal significance. The Hamptons quickly emerged as the perfect fit, offering both familiarity and ease for their loved ones. After touring multiple venues, they arrived at Gurney’s Resort and Seawater Spa. Standing on the terrace overlooking the ocean, they knew they had found the right place. As Payal put it, it felt like the perfect oasis.
