On their first date in Boston, Cody Plofker and Payal Patel went through two bottles of wine during a dinner they did not want to end, a night that became the beginning of their story. Over the years that followed, they marked each anniversary with meaningful experiences, from cooking classes to shared adventures. When Cody proposed on a quiet hike with their dog during the pandemic, Payal said yes, later laughing that her first thought was making sure the ring stayed safe in the middle of the woods.
Originally envisioning a destination wedding, the couple ultimately chose somewhere closer to home with personal significance. After touring multiple venues in the Hamptons, they arrived at Gurney's Resort and Seawater Spa. Standing on the terrace overlooking the ocean, they knew they had found the right place.
The wedding honored both of their backgrounds fully, with Payal wearing Anita Dongre, a joyful Dhol player weaving through the celebration, and a reception that unfolded naturally from start to finish.
