The Lodge at Whitefish Lake Wedding Photographer
Whitefish, Montana Wedding Weekend
Tayler and Tim's wedding was a refined lakeside celebration set against the natural beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Held at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, their day blended relaxed elegance with thoughtful details, from soft neutral florals and champagne tones to an intimate lakeside ceremony overlooking the water. Whitefish holds deep meaning for them, with summers spent on the lake and winters skiing nearby, making it the perfect place to gather their people for a full wedding weekend in Montana.
The Lodge at Whitefish Lake is one of my favorite venues anywhere. The mix of lakeside setting, mountain views, and a team that genuinely cares about every detail makes it a dream to photograph and film. One of my favorite moments at any Lodge wedding is the boat ride on Whitefish Lake in their classic wooden Chris Craft. Everyone on that boat is just happy and the light on the water is something else. I am always shooting on that boat.
Betsi Ewing Weddings is a photography and videography studio with deep roots in destination weddings across Montana and the Rocky Mountains. Beyond the lake itself, couples and guests exploring the area have Glacier National Park and Whitefish Mountain Resort right nearby, which makes The Lodge a natural anchor for a full destination wedding weekend. As a Montana wedding photographer who has documented multiple weddings at this venue, I know how the day flows here and I come prepared every time.
Tayler and Tim, The Lodge at Whitefish Lake Wedding Weekend
Tayler and Tim's wedding weekend was a refined celebration accented with soft white florals and lush greenery. Their Golden Retriever joined them for portraits, bridesmaids wore champagne floor-length dresses, and before the ceremony the couple shared a first touch — a quiet moment together before walking down the aisle. As the night unfolded, guests danced under the stars with Jukebox Boise setting the tone.
Their love story began in Denver, where they met after matching on a dating app. Over time, their relationship grew through summers spent on Whitefish Lake and winters skiing nearby, making Whitefish a natural and meaningful choice for their wedding. With the help of Kate Lynn Events, they planned a full destination wedding weekend at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake, including a day on the lake, a bridal brunch, a golf outing, and a Yellowstone-themed welcome party complete with live music, a cigar bar, and whiskey tasting.
On their wedding day, Tayler and Tim exchanged private vows with their backs to each other to preserve the surprise. Their lakeside ceremony featured sweeping mountain views, pre-ceremony champagne, and live cello music as guests arrived. Confetti cannons marked their first kiss before the couple departed for a private champagne cruise on the classic wooden boat. The reception tent overlooked the lake and was filled with neutral tones, greenery-draped chandeliers, and thoughtful details like stone table numbers and clay ornament seating assignments. After their first dance, the dance floor stayed packed all night.
Tayler and Tim's Whitefish Montana wedding at The Lodge at Whitefish Lake was featured in Rocky Mountain Bride. Their story also included an engagement session in Boulder, Colorado, a place that reflects another meaningful chapter of their relationship.
